How this format works
The 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 format means you complete the full movement list ten times, multiplying the reps by the round number. Round 1 is 15 burpees, 25 mountain climbers, and 15 jump squats performed once through. Round 2 is that same sequence performed twice back to back, round 3 is three times through, and so on until round 10. Move at your own pace and rest only as needed between rounds, not mid-round if you can help it. Track your total time from the first burpee of round 1 to the last jump squat of round 10.
How to attack it
The early rounds feel deceptively easy, so resist the urge to sprint out of the gate. Most athletes hit a wall around rounds 5 and 6, when the volume stacks up and the mountain climbers start to feel endless. Break the burpees into small chunks with short pauses at the top rather than grinding to failure. Pair your breathing to the jump squats: inhale on the way down, exhale on the drive up. Keep transitions tight, because rest between movements is where minutes disappear.
Form cues
- 15 BURPEES — Chest to floor, then jump up and reach overhead.
- 25 MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS — Plank position, drive knees to chest one at a time, fast.
- 15 JUMP SQUATS — Squat down, then explode up off both feet; land soft.
Scale it
Newer to this: Drop to 10 burpees, 15 mountain climbers, and 10 jump squats per round, or cap the workout at 5 rounds. Swap standard burpees for step-back burpees with no push-up, and replace jump squats with bodyweight air squats. This keeps the format intact while making the volume manageable.
Want more: Add a push-up at the bottom of each burpee and a tuck to each jump squat for extra range. Bump mountain climbers to 35 per round and give yourself a strict 10-second cap on rest between rounds. If you want a real test, run it as a chipper with no rest at all.
